All of TAIS’ existing records needed to be migrated without losing any of their customer data.
Extracted mathematical formulas and report logic, then rebuilt them from the ground up.
The old system was maintained while we managed a seamless transition without interruption.
Grandlark’s business depended on an external vendor with limited availability to provide maintenance and technical support. They needed a team that could take on supporting their existing system in staying operational while also rebuilding their entire digital foundation.
During the discovery sprint we uncovered the current state and performance of the platform, documenting the key functionality and underlying statistical logic as we went. We found that the logic was spread out across hundreds of files, which needed to be standardized and rebuilt.
As part of our assessment, we also identified new opportunities to better visualize and communicate the data that was being collected and present it to users via graphs and email notifications.
Since business continuity was a key requirement for the client, part of discovery involved developing a staged succession plan that would allow us to transition from one system to the other without interrupting the client service.
project focus
Decoding the complex scoring algorithms that drive professional psychometrics.
Designing solutions for how to transform individual data points into actionable visualizations.
Planning how to transition staff from manual and outdated processes to efficient digital-first workflows.
key feature
To prevent a repeat of past dependencies, we migrated the platform to a standardized cloud architecture. This ensured the client could maintain sovereignty over their intellectual property - transforming the system from a "black box" managed by external developers into a scalable, proprietary asset they truly own.
Tandem designed and developed a rebuild of the system from the ground up while working with Grandlark to manage the budget and cashflow considerations.
We created a new system design that resolved long-standing issues with the existing platform, streamlined and improved the user interface, and brought in expert resources to maintain their project while the rebuild and migration of assessment records took place.
Available in five languages, the globally accessible platform serves clients across the world.
Layered management of Distributors, Clients, and Sub-Groups with role-based access.
Certified Practitioners have usage tracking, paired with granular permission management for staff.
Users can produce digital and print-able reports with detailed psychological profile charts and visualizations.
Dynamically created normative groups allow comparison of individuals to peer-based benchmarks.
Dynamic narrative feedback is produced based on key personality traits, guiding both users and practitioners.

After successfully transitioning away from the legacy technology stack and migrating all of the client records, we secured Grandlark’s IP and fundamentally de-risked the business. With a modern infrastructure, the system's performance and reliability substantially improved.
Increasing maintenance costs.
3rd party dependency on platform operation.
Adding new features was cost prohibitive.
Limited scalability due to platform limitations.
Stable, reduced maintenance costs.
Secure ownership of all platform operations.
Adding new features is cost-effective.
Unlimited scalability through cloud architecture.
Grandlark can proceed with confidence in growing their business and platform capabilities for many years to come.
The new modern infrastructure will allow new features and capabilities to be brought to market cost-effectively.
